Our Story
Derek hated coffee.
All through high school, college, and even while working night shifts—he just couldn’t stand the stuff. He always said it tasted bitter and burnt.
That all changed after one eye-opening trip to Seattle (because of course you have to try coffee in Seattle). It was there he discovered that coffee didn’t have to taste terrible—it could be smooth, rich, and full of flavor.
And just like that, a coffee obsession was born. Not out of a need for caffeine, but a love for flavor and the experience in every cup.
When sourcing great coffee proved harder than expected, Derek decided to try roasting it himself. One roast turned into another, and then another—and soon, Salt & Soul was born.
Now, we get to share that same obsession with you—one soul-stirring cup at a time.
Coffee can be an opportunity to transport you to a new place, our goal is that you taste that in every cup.
